Join California Trucking Association CEO Eric Sauer for an extraordinary conversation with the industry's leading voices on cargo crime, transportation risk and security: Sal Marino of CargoNet, Scott Cornell of LogistIQ Insurance Solutions and Ed Burnett of Cloudastructure.
Together, they'll tackle where AI can actually help, where it can't, and whether the next generation of security technology can stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated cargo theft.
Webinar Overview
Can AI help identify the people, vehicles and behaviors that signal a fraudulent pickup before cargo disappears?
Can AI analyze shipment, carrier, vehicle or behavioral data to identify anomalies and patterns that might indicate fraud or organized theft?
Criminal networks have always been technology-forward. How are they using AI to identify targets, impersonate legitimate carriers, create fraudulent documents or scale their operations?
With technologies such as Flock raising Fourth Amendment and privacy concerns, where should the industry draw the line?
What can behavioral analytics actually tell us—and where does human judgment still matter?
Which security measures actually change the risk profile—and which ones simply look good on paper?
From LPR to intelligent video search, what can investigators actually recover when every minute matters?

Scott Cornell is a nationally recognized expert on cargo theft, transportation risk and organized crime, with more than 25 years of experience in investigations and transportation insurance. Before joining LogistIQ, he spent 25 years at Travelers, where he led the Transportation and Inland Marine division and helped create the insurance industry's first dedicated cargo-theft investigative unit. A frequent speaker and media commentator, Cornell has appeared on CBS, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, Vice TV and Yahoo Finance, and has been recognized with the 2024 Pharmaceutical Cargo Security Coalition Award and named to the 2025 Top 100 Insurance Executives list. He also serves as Chair of TAPA Americas.
Ed Burnett brings more than 30 years of security, investigations and fraud expertise, including more than two decades with UPS, where he ultimately served as Vice President of U.S. Security and Global Fraud Investigations. During his tenure, Burnett led the largest joint UPS and law-enforcement investigation in the company's history, coordinating 17 police jurisdictions in a major cargo-theft investigation. The case earned him California's Investigation of the Year Award in 2019. He now brings that firsthand experience in transportation security, organized theft and fraud to his role as Chief Security & Operations Officer at Cloudastructure.
